Description

Our intensive RYA Day Skipper Combined offers the advantage of completing your shore-based and practical sailing qualifications over a shorter period of time – 9 days.

As part of your RYA Day Skipper Combined course, you will undertake 4-days shore-based training at King Point Marina, followed by the 5-day practical element. Your practical training will take place on our 42′ sailing yacht.

King Point Marina is a small and modern marina with fabulous facilities. Conveniently located just 5-minutes away from Plymouth mainline train station by taxi, we are easily accessible with regular links from Exeter, Bristol, Birmingham and London. If you choose to travel by car, a pay and display car park can be found opposite the marina.

Whilst undertaking your RYA Day Skipper Combined with Devon Sailing Experiences, not only will you be working towards achieving your qualification, but Devon and Cornwall will provide your spectacular scenery and sailing ground. Your west-country based training course offers some of the most beautiful moorings and anchorages along the coast, along with any of the sailing challenges you would expect to encounter anywhere in the UK leaving you with confidence in your abilities as a skipper.

Upon leaving Plymouth Sound you may choose to head to Cornwall: Falmouth offers marina facilities in the heart of the town, giving you and your crew the opportunity to explore the local pubs while you discuss your plans for the next day. Mylor, which is quieter and a little further up the river, also offers marina facilities which are modern and well-maintained, along with a yacht club and local pubs. If, as part of your training, you choose to plot a course to the picturesque Cornish town of Fowey, you will find a warm welcome with plenty of places to enjoy a pleasant evening ashore whilst you enjoy some well deserved down time during your intensive training week.

When booking your RYA Day Skipper Shorebased, Devon Sailing Experiences are confident that you will receive high-quality training from your knowledgeable and experienced instructor.

For the comfort of all of our guests, our yachts are designated non-smoking to maintain their high-quality.
